You may not be an essential worker, Zigg, but you are an essential stand-up comedian. For my evidence I supply whoever said, quote, laughter is the best medicine. And of course medicine workers are essential.
There seems to be a fine line between essential and expendable. Stay safe, stay healthy, and respect everyone around you by keeping your distance and wearing your mask when necessary. Especially for the next month, because all the fools that had to have a ‘normal’ Memorial Day’ weekend partying in large groups and getting drunk will likely have put a spread on the virus that will undue all the sacrifice we’ve made so far. Proving so many that will utter “thank you for your service,” do it to make themselves feel better about the sacrifices they will never make and would prefer others to make for them, not out of any real respect.
I got the flu many years back and OMG the freaking phone rang off the hook and my poor hubby (who worked from home) told the people at my job I was sick when I got better she will be back, please stop calling every day.

When I was working I seemed to be indispensable – for all the idiotic tasks.

That’s not a bad thing now, Ziggy. Sit back, relax, and enjoy. As an “essential worker” I don’t have that luxury.

I am essential retiree. Fortunately, I can serve my purpose from home. Preferably on the couch in front of the TV.

All of the essential workers at my job are required to wear pants. And masks of course.
