That sounds like a swift kick in the posterior kind of reply!

I know, I know! But I grew up with a few beltings in my time – and still taught kids for well over ten years without any corporal punishment!

My sister and I both kept our rooms clean and tidy because we didn’t want MOM to clean them for us! 8-O

My daughter’s room was a disaster. One weekend she went to a swimming competition. My wife cleaned her room and took 6 bags of garbage out of it. When she came home she was appalled at it. She asked what was thrown out. My wife said " When you can tell me what is missing I will tell you what I threw out" My daughter never found anything missing…except garbage.

My mom worked 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. at a motel for years when I was growing up. Dad worked at an auto parts place during the day. During the year she expected me to at least clean my room without being told. During the summer, she expected the whole house to be clean…or else. Since the “or else” was never pleasant, I learned to clean the house at a young age, so it was never a problem to keep my room clean.

I always kept my room clean. I have the scars to prove that it was not always as clean as my mother would have liked.

once again Betty is way behind. teaching your children good habits start early and are reinforced as needed.
