I get paid to read the comics each day. It’s called Social Security, and I want to thank all you folks out there for working so I don’t have to.

BTW, I don’t believe in Social Security. It is immoral to use government force to take money from people who have earned it to give to people who haven’t.

I know, I know, you’ll tell me I’ve paid into it for 40 years and I’m just getting back what I’ve paid in, but it takes an act of will to ignore the fact this has always been a lie. It’s not like a pension fund with actual savings; it’s just a pay-as-you-go Ponzi scheme that is going to collapse thanks to all the Boomers coming after me.

But yet I take the money anyway. Why? Because, first, I’m not the one stealing it; the government is. Second, by virtue of the fact that I know I have no right to it, ironically I deserve it more than someone who DOES believe in the right to take your money to give to me! At least I publicly oppose the whole scheme (which is what I’m doing here and now), which is my small contribution toward deserving your money. Thanks again.

Now, if you want to VOLUNTARILY send me your money, perhaps out of gratitude for what I’ve posted here, that’s a different matter. I don’t hold charity as a virtue, but it is your right. But there is nothing charitable about governmentally-coerced charity like Soc. Sec.

Of course, the Leftists out there may disagree.

Right wing, Randolini? If “right wing” means pro-freedom, pro-rights, pro-Constitution, pro-capitalist, limited government, anti-Leftist, then d-a-m-n right I’m right wing. But definitely not a conservative and definitely too handsome to be a troll. And if you’re surprised to encounter a right-winger here, you must not have been here long.

As for DirtyDragon’s comment, let it be known that I am completely opposed to illegal drugs and have never used any. (I think they should be legal anyway, but it appears fine distinctions like this are lost on DD. Hold onto your wallet when he’s in the room since he seems to think he has a right to your money.)
