When we tried to paper-train our puppy, we covered the kitchen with papers and blocked the entrance with boards. It worked, but he started chewing the boards. To discourage this, we put tabasco sauce on the boards. All that did was give him a preference for tex-mex menus.

A friend’s 8 lb puppy started coming home with fiber in its fur, and they finally figured out that it was chewing on the siding.
