    Thorn is also some times written as “Porn” using the griph as the first letter depending on the culture you are comming from, the meaning though is “The thorn is exceedingly sharp, an evil thing for any one” So it fits for a Kidney stone.

    The thorn is the first letter in signs such as “Ye Olde Antique Shop”. Since later printers didn’t have the thorn character, they used the closest letter to it which was the Y. So when you see “Ye”, it’s actually pronounced “The”.
