    Actually, BuzzDog, “Le Pomme Fritte” literally translated is the fried apple (pomme being apple). Potatoes are “apples of the ground (pomme du terre)”, thus fried potatoes.

    Can anyone else see where this is going so clearly that it makes you wince and want to skip over the next couple of weeks?

    Yes, if you’re thinking what I’m thinking… I see an indecent proposal in the future, and Slim will have to weigh his love of Clovia against the prospect of one-million dollars…

    Um, JanCinVV, I’m a native French speaker…yes, I know what the literal translation is, but the fact remains that the phrase translates to “the French fry.”

    Which is FUNNY.
