One of my favourite WFH cartoons was a Dilbert from a couple of decades ago ~ he’s disheveled, in a bathrobe, holding a little Dilbert puppet up to the camera to check in with the boss.
Maybe if he said…“I’ll get a head start on rewriting that report after dinner tonight, I’ll just finish up from home tomorrow.” It will 1, show the boss he has initiative, 2, give the boss a basis to trust him to work from home, and 3, take the burden of the decision from out of ‘the boss has to decide’ column to the ’it’s a done deal’ column. Worth a shot anyway.
