Mine had 7 transistors, I was born later.
I built one with 3, a cub scout kit or something such, single big black earphone, AM only, needed a long wire antenna to get a local 50kw station, ate batteries, came apart.
I remember the old transistor radios well. Back in the day, that was cutting edge technology.
