Letters are easy. I could never remember to carry my numbers in multiplication.

Mail escorts look like Adonis. Letter carriers look like Lew. Simple mistake.

And some male escorts are carriers of another sort.

FREEHOLDER I put in a Change of Address form for you. Do you know where Deep Swamp Road is in Lost Village, Ark is?

I’ll have you know that while a mail man (is that redundant?), I was compared to a certain “David”. Wonder why all the lady customers grew fig leaves.

Letter carriers carry more than letters: flats (9x12 or so envelopes usually containing junk mail), nuts (small packages that can get lost easily in the pouch), occupant printed matter without envelopes or resident names, etc. They are not necessarily male (mail man is out). The easiest is the British term “postie”.

That’s about all they can do! carry it. But ask them to place the mail in the correct box and they go postal on you.

To be absolutely P.C. mail man would be “person person”

I always go with “gender person” as the correct P.C. title.
