This may prove to be one of the best thought-out GA stories. –A con man does his homework and learns Slim and Clovia’s home address. He brings his car to the garage and gives a phony name and address. He bores Clovia with stupid jokes and passes himself off as Slim’s cousin. Instead of paying the bill, he takes Slim and Clovia to a fancy restaurant and skips out in plenty of time to get to their apartment and rob them.
When God opens a door he closes a window. Clovia should check to see if any windows have been mysteriously closed before she rules out “act of God.”
I’ve enjoyed this storyline. For the few minutes I invest everyday in the strip and comments, I feel I get a generous helping of entertainment. I’ll be awake at least another 16 hours, so I don’t expect it to make or break my whole day.
Betcha “cousin” is a thieving con man, as others have said - but his getaway will be foiled by some element of incompetent or incomplete auto repair on Slim’s part.
I especially like when Mr. Scancarelli uses creative comic techniques you just don’t see much anymore - silhouettes, fusing of panels, that large exclamation mark floating over Slim’s head…
Great read: “Understanding Comics” by Scott McCloud.

By “best thought out”, do you mean most drawn out? Two weeks of this storyline was nothing but bad puns and unfunny jokes.

New storylines are hard to come by. GA is and will always be my favorite comic.

I’m enjoying this story too, and think it’s developing at a nice pace.

Apartment?
You must really stink to be the only auto mechanic in town, and not be able to afford your own home.

Unless they never wanted their own home. We have our own one. Are third so far with time and space between.
