And who’s the “special lady”? I’m surprised she let that one slide.

    Could it be Lacey Davenport?

I’d have thought the Saturday strip would include more anthropomorphic vices to bookend the week but I guess not. Shrug.

After all this time, I still don’t understand how Mr. Butts and company can co-exist with the other characters (nor is it necessary for me to do so in order to enjoy the strip, of course). If Mr. Butts and company are figments of, specifically, Mike’s imagination, does that mean that the strip (which, obviously, exists ENTIRELY in Mr. Trudeau’s imagination) moves in and out of Mike’s imagination at a moment’s notice? Does that mean that, for instance, the events of this week’s strips do not exist in contemporary Joan’s memories? Or does she remember them with human characters in place of the anthropomorphic vices? Obviously, it’s just a comic strip and I should really just relax, but hey, I can simultaneously wonder AND relax. Sometimes I find it relaxing TO wonder. :-)

There aren’t many pubs about birds. Audibon Quarterly with their famous centerfold is about it. Now stamps that’s another story.

Too bad they didn’t have Uncle Duke, Zeke, and Elmont as potential jurors. There would have been some laughs to be had.
