I have the same problem. I stand too close to the ball, after I hit it.
Actually, he gets to hit the ball more, so he’s getting more use out of those expensive clubs.

Many a time I have followed players who insist on playing from the back tees; none of whom could hit the ball beyond 200 yards.
We’re still deep in the hole. A set of clubs – we’ve yet to use them in 10 years!
