We gotta have nebulous groups to blame, correctly or not (mostly it doesn’t matter). Because it distracts from the source of problems. The nation is now “Ignore that little man behind the curtain…” The smoke and mirrors are black smoke and cracked mirrors. Night and Fog next? – oops we already have kids in cages. See? We’re supposed to have forgotten that. Gets scarier and scarier, don’t it? People are shocked that there are riots but why? If people don’t want to be treated like black people, why are black people still being treated they way they are in the year 2020 in the first place?
Someone asked me why Black Lives Matter is even a thing. I asked if they would like to be treated the way black people are. Without hesitation they said, “Of course not.” It took a moment for that to sink in. Black Lives Matter really is just short for, Black Lives Matter As Much As White Lives.
“Imagine for a moment that you broke your left wrist. In excruciating pain, you rush to the emergency room for treatment only to run into a doctor who insists on examining not just your mangled left wrist, but your uninjured right wrist, rib cage, femur, fibula, sacrum, humerus, phalanges, the whole bag of bones that is you. You say, “Doc, it’s just my left wrist that hurts.” And she says, “Hey, all bones matter.”
If you understand why that remark would be factual, yet also, fatuous, silly, patronizing and off point, then you should understand why “All lives matter” is the same. It’s not about “elevating some lives” any more than it would be about elevating some bones. Rather, it’s about treating where it hurts." – Leonard Pitts, Jr.
I’m white and made a career in law enforcement. When #BLM arose, I resented it from both the “all” and the “blue” perspectives. The idea above was that definitive thought, that “click” in my head that suddenly allowed me to begin to understand. To this day I am deeply grateful for the insight.

Seems to me this “All Lives Matter” slogan was developed to counter “Black Lives Matter”, either by someone calculating or by someone horribly obtuse.

Definitely cartoon of the month, right off the bat. I just ordered a custom bumper sticker from buildasign.com, edited down a bit for legibility.
