My son and I both REALLY liked his 1st grade teacher. When the year ended, he wouldn’t say good-bye to her. We got down the hall and around the corner and I asked him what was wrong. He just leaned his back against the wall, hands behind him, and shook his head. Then I realized…he COULDN’T say good-bye. So I went and did it for him…all choked up, too. But that’s what Moms are for, y’know.
Earlier in the pandemic, Curtis’s (https://seattlepi.com/comics-and-games/fun/Curtis) teacher/nemesis Mrs. Nelson was hospitalized with COVID-19 and he went from disparaging her to very concerned for her. Today she absolutely thrilled him by coming to visit, fully recovered.
