If you don’t like fireworks how are you with thunder and lighting.

How about thunderstorms, doggie?

My dog’s hearing is very acute. Our first walks were puzzling until I carefully listened. Local Army base bombs I barely heard as a slight ‘wrump’ set her off. Trains from far off that she could hear first too. I walked daily in the same area and I reassured her often and now she is fine even with the local firing range. But if there is a raccoon within 100 yards she can sniff it and gets very agitated. Mice, squirrel and rabbit scents put her instinctively into hunting mode. Once in a while she scores! I have to watch her carefully on the trails. Her sense of smell is so good.

My dog will not go out in the rain. Unless I drag him.

My friend’s pooch was so scared of fireworks that she would wedge her forty pound self around behind the toilet when she heard them

If you have a crate, drape your bedspread over it. Let him stay in there with the door open. Just like a den, and it smells like mom and dad.

Anything to get away from that vacuum cleaner.

Don’t think you’ll have to worry about that this year.

When they gotta go…they gotta go.
