Laura Ingraham (Fox of course) to the contrary. the 19 is indeed the year the virus was discovered, not the number in the series of viruses.
I’ve been using this joke from the beginning of the thing (which I stole from a friend who stole it from someone else). Like the “Freshmen 15”

Possibly to kill that misunderstanding, science sites started to cal it SARS-CoV-2. It didn’t catch on.
