Dad: Lookit! The baby made something out of fun-dough! It's good! It's good that you made that! Now quick! Wish it into the cornfield!
Mom: Enough with your obscure "Twilight Zone" references.
I really don’t get many of Thatababy’s references.
Have I been living under a rock?
Don’t answer that and don’t turn me over to the Geico gecko, please.
I also recall a young couple getting advice from a fortune machine with a devils head on it. I think he joined the service, and I think he made the rank of captain.
The most overly anthologized short story of all time. First published in 1853 (by Jereome Bixby), in the ’60s and ’70s it appeared in almost every collection of science fiction shorts. It got to the point where I hated that story.
Runar is posting from the Twilight Zone, it would appear. Jerome Bixby story, published in 1953, not 100 years earlier. I’d dispute the “most overly anthologized story” description, though I must admit it’s a close thing.
I never cared for dhmis (I’m a scaredy-cat). however, I make videos about it. C:\Users\Stevi\Desktop\reanimations and parodies of viral videos, tiktoks and more!

Ha! One more reason I love “Thatababy”. Where else do you get references to the classic “It’s a Good Life” ep of “The Twilight Zone”.
Also…is it sad that the reference wasn’t that obscure to me?

I love it too, but the reference was obscure to me.

I love the kid’s expression. “Like, yeah, okay, whatever, dad.”

I remember Billy Mumy in that Zone offering.

Nah, the best one was “The After Hours” where the mannequin thought she was a real person.
