Wife and I settled on one another fifty-one years ago.. that’s when my ship came in.
Just wait till you reach the age when everything has settled and you don’t even have hope of settling.

“settle on with”??? Did he mean to say “settle down with”? If so, how is that a joke? If not, then what DID he mean?
