I just watched “In The Valley Of Elah,” a movie starring Tommy Lee Jones, Charlize Theron and Susan Sarandon. It was very good and shows just how much war can mess a person up.
He was really good in the Fugitive. I didn’t think I would like the movie, didn’t think it would do the TV show justice, but surprisingly, it was very good! Probably wouldn’t have bothered with it but figured it was worth a shot with him and Harrison Ford both in it.
I didn’t see that one. We have several movies for consideration tonight. I am not sure what we will watch, something from the library or something from Netflix.
We have the classics “King Solomon’s Mines”, “Bigger Than Life”, “Union Station” and “The Snake Pit”, plus the animated “Despicable Me.” We have already started both “Union Station” and “Despicable Me.”
Yes we do Dry! I am looking forward to Friday. My best man in my first marriage was a really good friend of mine. I moved to Seattle for a couple of years and we got out of touch. We got together because of facebook (even though I do not use it) and we are getting together on Friday evening. We spent at least 45 minutes on the phone a couple of nights ago, so I am excited about reconnecting with him.
By the way, dinner was great. Nothing like a very good dinner that was easy to prepare. That is what I search for. My cousin feels that she has to find the most elaborate preparations to make a good meal, and I have told her good is good, whether it is 10 minutes or a few hours that it takes to prepare the meal.
I’m glad you are reconnecting with your friend. I recently reconnected with an old friend also, although her story was a sad one. Her husband turned out to be a pig!
A retired full bird colonel to boot. I knew him, I was really surprised! Really surprised!
Sometimes people really surprise you. Actually everybody does. I think back to when I met my wife. Neither one of us is as we portrayed ourselves. I often feel bad that I am not as romantic as I was at the moment that I met her. It obviously is in me, but one becomes complacent, and I have consciously tried to be the man I was when I met her, yet it doesn’t happen. It is like, I have won the prize, now I can be a jerk.
After that last comment I felt that I had to go downstairs, hug my wife and tell her how much that I loved her. It is nice to be reminded that these gestures are not hard to do, but yet mean so much.

Too much rain, or enough to help the crops burst into growth, cleo?

The sun tried to peek out from behind the clouds, but the clouds slammed the window shut.

The sun is trying to peek out here, too. I think it’ll make it, but it will be a bit chiller, they say. Not bone chilling cold, but cooler.

Great…it is now pouring out again. I think I’ll come visit you Dry. For dinner I will make salmon with potato/artichoke hash.

Sounds good cleo! Sun isn’t out here yet, but it’s not raining. That is over.

I am not familiar with that one but I like Tommy Lee Jones, so it must be good.

He is good and plays a character very familiar to the ones we are used to seeing (strong, no nonsense).

Like what? Comedy, drama, mystery? I’ve got JFri’s favorite on tap, “Law and Order SVU”! SNERK! He hates that show!

Moods affect our interests. Right now my mood is on dinner. I love food. Have I told you that “I love food?”
