I was hoping you would document your crossing of the Mighty Mac. Two things happened in 1957, I was born and a month later the Mackinac Bridge was completed. It took a number of years to complete the bridge, but only 9 months for me.
We love to eat at little, local, hole-in-the-wall places while traveling ~~ luckily no digestive problems. Why are restrooms so far and few between when you desperately need them, though? You got lucky.

Love your travelogue, especially the tips of what and where to eat or not.

Love cream and/or butter sauces – but ooh, stomach doesn’t, especially pre-gallbladder operation.

I think we’ve all had rumbly in the tumbly at least once while traveling. Never fun.
