Our cat is usually very chill – until we get to the vet’s. Then she turns into a hissing, growling, biting, slashing hellion. Pretty impressive for an old cat (she just turned 17). We started mildly sedating her before we go – and she still puts up a pretty good fight (just not as hellacious). At least they have a chance of getting an exam done/blood drawn. And she is a relatively small cat (around 6.5 lbs).
You showed great restraint, Max…unlike a dog that once competed in The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. She was so nervous, she left a calling card on the carpet while she was being shown. Needless to say, she didn’t win or place in her group.

Either it was a good trip or a traumatic trip to the Vet.

Max has probably been probed AND stuck. Now is not the time to reassure.

Now Max, the vet’s office personnel is used to that as many dogs get nervous and don’t like the vet. We got lucky over the years and got great vets.

At least that’s the worst thing he can think of doing. Compared to other dogs, Max is a saint.
