Low prices often means low quality : you think to make a deal but in reality you consume more product, detergents for example (my experience), and therefore you spend more.
Obviously this is going to be an unpopular POV here, but there’s a flip side to the “WalMart is the work of Satan” screed, and it’s this: a lot of us are just too damn poor. My own family scrapes by on the pittance my wife gets paid as a special needs teacher, and we live in one of the nation’s most expensive states. The alternative to buying at a place like WalMart is not having the goods at all, or not paying my rent; it certainly isn’t paying the grossly inflated prices of the boutique stores on Main Street in this college town.
“Those are the DEVIL’S Prices!” Sounds a lot like that crazy lady in the Palm Beach County Meeting a couple of weeks back. Let me assure you, the Devil does NOT provide diapers. I was MARRIED to her and she wouldn’t even go to the store! Baddum bum – tss!

Ruby Kilgore is a really well-rendered character. I’ll bet she can be a pain sometimes, but I like her.

Those prices will remain in effect until the small Locally Owned stores go Bankrupt.
Then, they will go UP because “It’s the Only Damned Store Left In Town”.
