    Gosh, I hated those things! Tried them once, had a bad experience, and then avoided them like the plague for the rest of my childhood.

    The country store where I work has a long candy counter, which includes jawbreakers. They range from “baby” (25 cents, about the size of a marble) to two normal ones ($1.95 and $2.95), and then the giant ones ($9.95, the size of a softball, no exaggeration).
