Not slandering anyone but I’ve never understood the snooze button thing. During weekdays I get up with (or more likely just before) the alarm. During weekends I get up when I feel like it.
An old article in Popular Mechanics titled " How To Gain an Extra Hour Each Day " ( or something very close to that ) suggested that very thing. When your alarm goes off in the morning, get up instead of just lying there and use the time to accomplish something. It made a lot of other suggestions such as shaving while you are in the shower instead of after you step out….

It also works if you miss the snooze button and hit Betty in the face!

My alarm clock is on the other side of the room for just this reason.
