Common law marriage is recognized in Texas if: 1) the couple live together; 2) they represent themselves as husband and wife; 3) there is evidence of being a married couiple such as the woman using the man’s last name or the clear commingling of finances. There are probably some other technical rules but the above will generally get you considered married in a common law marriage in Texas.

Depends on what state your in.
As long as your happy, and legally protected you shouldn’t worry about marriage.
