In French we say “J’ai chaud” (I have hot) to mean “I am hot”…
Je suis chaud (I am hot) actually means what the guy in the blue T-shirt is describing…
Perhaps his room-mate is trying to get tell him something ?

We say either picante or caliente depending on which hot were describing.
