Who cares what it looks like, it is how good it is that counts.Kudos fro cutting out the stars. So the crust got a bit brown, just peal it off and eat the pie. Put some Ice cream on it for good measure.

That crust isn’t too brown, it’s properly caramelized!

Well if this is your second attempt at baking a pie from scratch and it came out edible then I’d call it a WIN!

If you give up on the fine points of cosmetics pies aren’t that hard. It takes some trial and error. A crust recipe that works well in a food processor helps.

In the days before refrigeration pie was a method to preserve fruit. Not as long as canning, but for a day or two at least.

That’s right Amanda, beauty is only crust deep. If it tastes good, it’s a win. Mmmm, pie.

Haha! You’re right! I think this should be the standard sentence of praise for all food from now on! And kudos for pie-making; I love to bake but pies, eeek.
