That looks like my daughter’s room, except that her clean laundry is in a precariously-balanced pile of half-filled laundry baskets. The dirty laundry is what’s on the floor.
When I was in college (and living at home) I had the worn pile on the floor and the clean pile on the dresser – when all on floor, wash and start over.
Then I got married and became a responsible adult doing laundry for husband and me. Lately I have been drifting back. While the clean clothes are put away, the worn clothes are accumulating in front of my closet instead of being thrown nightly into the laundry bag in the linen closet. Husband has been very patient with me about this as I know it drives him crazy – and, no, this dates back to normal times and is not C-19 related.

Actually Dad that is easy thing to find. It is in closet with the other things that I never wear or use!

If it’s at the bottom of one of those piles, it may no longer be a good white shirt

Compared to Jeremy Duncan’s room, Baldo’s room is less, less messy

I can see it now. A dingy, wrinkled, a random blotch of something with the aroma of mildew/unwashed teenage boy. Hope the event is not too important.

So, Baldo prefers Piles over an evenly spread “Carpet” of discarded clothing.
Doesn’t he know that Piles concentrate the musty odor?
An even spread helps keep the discards smelling fresher.
