Why are there no astronauts or ground crew named “Roger”?

Or, are they ALL named Roger and they’re just messing with the rest of us? How do we know his name’s really “Jeeter”, and not Roger?

Is Jeeter a cartoon character that I am unaware of at this time?

I can almost see the NASCAR race from here.
