Holy freaking cow how can kids be so not in the know of how to operate toasters, ovens, microwaves etc. It just doesn’t seem right to me. We were shown how to use something before we tried it on our own. Then these parents wonder why kids started fire etc My mom and dad went through all it with us so we if had to use something we knew how it worked.
Reminded of the time I made a grilled cheese sandwich, but the yellow substance in the margarine tub was some frosting Mom had left over from something.

Well, then it’s time to get a new toaster, Eddie. Good thing you found that out.

James Beard did recommend slicing day-old angel food cake and toasting it.
