One of the most masterful matches I ever saw was Ashe vs. Connors late in Ashe’s career. He constantly changes paces, never let Connors settle into any kind of rhythm, kept away from the all out power game Jimmy preferred.
I remember now. A good friend died after heart surgery, same reason. Bob Dole’s wife was head of the Red Cross and refused to allow any kind of testing. Some hospitals tested for hepatitis I think, and interpolated that the blood could be positive for HIV, but not the ARC.

Poor Arthur. Heart surgery before a good test for AIDS tainted blood.
