if you had put the essay in your backpack, Paige, the wind wouldn’t have grabbed it

When I took night classes in programming they were using punch cards still as the PC hadn’t been invented yet and Apples were just coming out. Anyway, one day someone dropped all their punch cards into a puddle? OUCH!

This reminds me of the more recent “Peanuts” movie. In order to impress the Little Red-Haired Girl, while she is away, Charlie Brown volunteers to be her partner in a book report, chooses War & Peace (which he thought was going to be “Leo’s Toy Story” by Warren Peace), writes the best report ever…only to have it destroyed by being flipped off a see-saw & shredded by a model airplane (you have to see it to understand).

And, after that little dust-up with the dog, Paige hurries to hand in her 5 page essay… ☺

This is a worse excuse than “the iguana ate my homework,” probably because it’s true.

during my tour with the army I spent some time on shemya air force base. During a wind storm a burn bag(classified docs to be distroyed) was accidently opened. they had us looking for paper for one hour.

Her prize winning essay! Gone with the wind. Don’t count your chickens until they’re hatched.

In all likelihood, it was going to bomb anyway.
