When Bobby Orr was first contacted by the Bruins, their scout flew to rural Canada, checked into a motel, and the next morning asked the motel diner waitress how to drive to Orr’s address. Much to the scout’s surprise the waitress recited Mapquest-like directions — she was Orr’s mother. BTW, from P2 we now know that Milford is NOT in Maryland; that leaves 49 other possibilities. Any guesses?

In all reality, the James household is burglarized and burned to the ground that night .Will Phoebe suspect Corina and her mom ,will she tell her suspicions to Alexa her Bestie , does anyone care, inquiring minds want to know ?

Another pro athlete, Joakim Noah, appears in P2 in Milford. Definitely not Mayberry.

Another reason for Corrina to come back to Milford.I wonder how many teens even know who Andy Griffin is?

Milford is in Delaware, about 10 miles south of Dover. But they have different coaches for Football and Baseball. (and Basketball)

You Snarkers know where the fair town of Milford is…..in each and everyone of our hearts. Sniff, sniff.

So c’mon, here’s our chance. I’ve been casing the James for a week, they’ve got some great stuff to boost.

This town is about 60 miles NE of where I live. It’s Andy Griffith’s home town and the basis for the fictional town of Mayberry.

And while on the subject of NC and where Milford is. Several years ago (not sure when but before “Tru(e)” came along) there was one football season where Milford played a bunch of the teams from the old Southwest 3A conference in NC. That is what got me started commenting on this strip. Maybe Mop or Bitsy or some of you other shrewd computer types can research and see when that was. I don’t remember now who all they played but I do remember CHASE being one of the schools mentioned. Some of the other schools in the conf. were East Rutherford, RS Central, Burns, Crest (where David Thompson played) Kings Mountain and Shelby. I do remember that Milford ‘played’ several of those teams.

Milford High is located in Indiana … “Go Larks”

P1- That $5.75 Special! include extra crispy perfect hash browns? Corina Karenna looks like she is rounding into form. At least we know this “Diner” isn’t in Baltimore during the 1950’s.

Damn – I was hoping to order the special, but can’t make it out. What could it be? Maybe it’s the State Champion Coach Thorp Special. A big ham, full of baloney. But hard to order because often they can’t find it.
