It helps to use a charger that works. Plugged mine in for 2 hrs. just to find it dead. The charger is the one the cat chewed through. No games at lunch .
I bought my current phone because it said “up to 240 hrs standby”, I guess 22 hours is in that range. That is 22 hrs without using it for anything. Different battery, same result.
I write down things I need to remember. I use my phone to make phone calls, nothing else. I do not text, I do not use a GPS, I do not play games on it, I do not browse the net. If I leave it home, no big deal. If I happen to get lost, I ask someone for directions. And best of all…I do NOT take selfies!!! I hate selfies, those make people look like narcissists. Totally conceited.
notebook, address book both paper both not virtual. keeps things real. only problem I’ve run into was when I was sick my hubby some how put my password journal through the wash and it’s all melted away. amazing how many of those passwords I didn’t really use.
Though I have a smart phone, my life isn’t one it. I still have an address book, I write down every place I need to go, and if it’s someplace new, I write the directions down.
I have a creditcard-sized powerbank in my briefcase. It recharges my phone just a little over halfway, but that is generally plenty to get me to a place where I can recharge regularily. And it has its charging cable built in, so no forgetting/loosing that either.
Let’s admit it, smart phones are the crack of this generation. They are addicted to it, and go crazy when they have to be away from it for even seconds.

… does nobody charge their phones, or something?

If Betty had slipped a (charged) lipstick-sized power bank into her capacious purse, she could recharge anytime.

Why do they not carry a small power bank? Cheap and invaluable.
