Yesterday, someone compared this to “The Ransom of Red Chief”. Another comparison would be with Damon Runyon’s “The Snatching of Bookie Bob” in which Harry the Horse, Spanish Johnie and Little Isadore kidnapped a bookie to pay off their debt to another bookie but ended up in debt to the bookie they had kidnapped.
Is it just me or is the sexual tension between Hobbes and Susie a bit creepy? But then, since he is Calvin’s alter ego, does it mean Calvin subconsciously has the hots for Susie? Hmmmm……

So Calvin lost a quarter on the deal. He didn’t even get satisfaction, plus his tiger likes the enemy. The woes of a six-year-old boy.

I love the fan comic that has Calvin and Susie married with a daughter who discovers Hobbes.

Knowing Calvin, it wouldn’t surprise me if the quarter turns out to be a slug.

I suppose a truce is best when both sides get what they need but neither side wins.

So apropros for today. Childish man totally in the wrong and too self-centered to admit it or to care.
