Hobbes, somehow I lost the ability to log on to comments, although I was able to read comments. I want to thank you for solvfing the mystery of the last 2 missing panels of my old copy of C&H. In the future I’ll make sure that none of my paper copies of C&H get torn
Hi davidf42It’s harder than it used to be. For your example, do it like this, but put < in front of it and > after it:a href=“http://www.gocomics.com/annie/2002/05/17”>Annie Comic</aYou can choose any words for the location where I put in “Annie Comic”, and they will become the words that you click on for the link. For Puddleglum2, they will become the words upon which you click.
By the way, Hobbes, thanks for the URL advice. That allows me to show off one of my two latest YouTube videos (which has zero to do with this comic strip, being Psalms 67 in Hebrew, but which turned out to be very beautiful visually and audibly).
Hobbes, I’m sorry but I don’t understand. I used your line beginning with the letter a and ending with the letter a. Then I put a < in front of it and a > after it and here’s what I got.
It’s what’s left to OUR imaginations that’s so marvelous about this strip . . . it’s not unlike reading a book, or watching an OLD t.v. comedy. We don’t need to see the act to appreciate its significance.
OK, I figured it out. A big Thank You to Hobbes and Florchi. For everyone’s information, the reason it wasn’t working for me was that I was typing it in MS Word and pasting it here. It actually needs to be typed in here, not pasted in. Why, I do not know.
PC’s were just beginning to get popular in the mid-80’s, Florchi. I bought my first lap top in 1989. I bought my first desk top a few years later. In tn the company I worked for, PC’s were a shared resource until the mid 80’s.
I worked for a computer dealer before there was a “PC,” that is a computer running a Microsoft operating system. This was early 80s. Does anyone remember the Commodore? Osborne? Sony? Apple II? I guess Calvin would have had to be on a Commodore or Apple II or something. :-)
I don’t know why my comments won’t take in their proper formatting… testCalvin and Hobbes. Anyway, I don’t remember references to either PCs or even CDs herein. Even the TVs have rabbit ears at best, if memory serves. And yet, this strip is just as ageless as Peanuts.
My first computer was a Timex/Sinclair 1000, followed by an Osborne 1 with the latest “Single Sided Double Density Floppies!”-——————————————- For links and images, I’ve been going here and cutting and pasting into their examples:Quicklists
Gotta love Hobbes’ easy, friendly smile while asking to see Calvin’s bat. It doesn’t give away the fact that Calvin’s about ready to get the snot beaten out of him in return for all the whackings he gave Hobbes!

For censorship reason, the fifth panel wasn’t printed due to its violence.
pouncingtiger over 13 years ago
Or good thing for Calvin that there’s no 5th panel or this is one of the times when Calvin wishes he didn’t have a vivid imagination.

I had to put in that last sentence so that Puddleglum2 wouldn’t whack me with a baseball bat (metaphorically speaking).
Rakkav over 13 years ago
And there’s Hobbes (the Poster and apparent Trekkie), ready to boldly split infinitives where no one has split them before. :))
“They will become the words upon which you click” has rather a nice ring to it, don’t you think, Hobbes? :)
Am I going to use that regularly? Of course not. ;)
