The Cinque Terre is underrated as a travel locale (the beautiful picture on the Blog doesn’t begin to do it justice). Of the 5 villages (you can easily hike or take a train or ferry between all of them - it’s only 10k from Monterosso to Riomaggiore), I’d recommend staying at Vernazza, with Monterosso a close second.
However, the CT is highly overrated as a center for the treatment of pasta-related dependencies. It would be like going to Green Bay for treatment of football addiction, or Kansas City to cure a bad case of boredom.
P.S. If you do go to Vernazza be sure and eat at Il Pirata. The Cannoli Bros. put on the best Sicilian Floor/Dinner Show and semi Vaudevilian Comedic Food Service schtick north of the Treno station!

I have two left feet and used to sit out all but the slowest dances, this cartoon reminded me of a dance from long ago.
