Gil Thorp just started running in my local paper here in Wilmington, NC. It’s been at least 20 years since I last saw the strip in an actual newspaper.

P1, Yes Phoebe, everyone just has to meet Miss Congeniality.

P2, There’s plenty of sports you can do on your own, Corina. Ask Barry Bader.

P3, I’ve never seen anything that might be considered food that’s the color of what Phoebe is about to take a bite of. See the color version or MUT.

In all reality , Look Bestie , I’m a working girl for the summer and my man says working girls got to worķ. Gotta get humpin, Bye .

P2: Sounds a bit like me, I’ve often said I like my work, it’s just the coworkers and customers that spoil it.

Ski jumpers have coaches too.

P 2.5: “….But I’m sure coaches and teammates really like you though…”

P1- Why does Alexa have to meet Corina? She’s off to Bloomington, IN. First bookstore purchase? Candy stripe warm up pants.

P2- Have you considered golf? I know this State Champion coach who leaves you alone so you can be all you can be. The Bucket is passe’. Mel’s Diner is where all the TCFS kids go.

P3- Teenagers and thinking do not usually go together in a Gil Thorp panel.

If she ends up at Milford will Gil be accused of illegal recruiting by making contact in the summer? Looks like tampering to me. Someone call MIA Marty Moon.

Too bad she didn’t move to Milford a few years ago. She would have put a stop to that softball-hippo thing.

The colorist allowed Phoebe to have a belly shirt today. Ageist! Wouldn’t let Mimi wear one!

So she likes sports, unless it’s with other people. Fine, play tennis or golf. If you hate team sports, playing softball and buying full catcher’s gear seems rather stupid. The good news is, when she ends up playing for Milford, at least she doesn’t have to worry about dealing with coaches very often.

And speaking of worry, if you were worried that today’s Mopped Up Thorp wasn’t coming, worry no more!
