My best guess (after looking back through the story arc) is that on May 12th, the hospital orderly who stole his wallet caused an identity theft. This guy with the ham-fist, whomever he is, is likely mistaken and reacting to something the thief did?
Or, Norm did something “off-strip” while he was woozy that is catching up to him?
Or, this is Mr. Stark, who took his wife at her word when she [of course] told him that Norm was cheating on his daughter?
Regardless, I’m thinking this will be a catalyst for letting the cat out of the bag about Norm’s head injury. Of course, causing another head injury isn’t going to help.

Guess Jan isn’t happy with Norm’s helping Ford. This is a terrific arc.
