no recollection in my growing-up-with-cats days did I see the cats unroll the TP (I just once in a while see the women’s room at the grocery store where I’m employed TP scattered about)
Will he have cat hairs on his butt? She’s being frugal during the pandemic. Instead of opening a new package, she’ll find a way to make the existing roll last.
An outdoor cat will probably leave the toilet roll alone. However, an indoor cat will get bored very easily and the toilet roll is a huge attraction. I have also noticed that Siamese cats seem to love playing with the toilet roll.
That’s why, when you have a cat, the loose end of the TP goes out the BACK of the roll, not the front. We had to do that the first time our cats did that.
Just roll the tp back, my own sister took care trouble of tp and their cat, they placed wood guard in front of the bathroom, and toilet seat down. Before the cat would do that with tp.
I don’t recall any cat I ever had doing that. I did have a puppy who occasionally suffered from separation anxiety and would get into the bathroom and unroll the toilet paper – taking it throughout the house in a continuous trail.
The first time this happened, I thought someone had gotten into the house and was playing a prank on me.
The pup eventually outgrew his anxiety and stopped the teepeeing the house.
I had a doberman who liked to unroll toilet paper. It was rather messy. But I should think Earl can find the toilet paper that Opal surely keeps stocked where he can learn it is kept. He is so helpless. Opal is a true gem. Pun intended.

I know for sure that our cat will initiate games. Not quite the same as a sense of humor, but close.

You have to unroll it to use it anyway. Rolling is just for ease of storage and transport.

And on this day Opal admitted that the cat did the unrolling ! Usually she blames Roscoe ;-)

Get a bidet. Cats don’t like water sprays.

I didn’t know better and I left the door open. Thereafter the door was closed.

Cats do seem to be natural trolls, and they’re so cute they can constantly get away with it!

My cat Pumpkin loved to unroll the toilet paper, so we had to keep it in the cabinet. She looked so cute, who could get angry.

In an old (2011) Calvin & Hobbes cartoon Hobbes sticks the free end of the roll into the toilet and then flushes.

Where cats can get hold of anything like that, the fun is on-paper towels are a popular toy.

That’s why you load the TP to roll from the bottom.

To keep a cat from unrolling the TP, hang it with the loose squares against the wall. No matter how much the cat spins it, it won’t unfurl. :)

Simple, just tape the ends together with a Möbius strip twist.
