There are now several versions on YouTube, including two from the ’50s.

Never heard of that one. But then, I never heard of “It’s a Wonderful Life” until the late 80’s.

I was born in ‘58. I didn’t live in a home with a TV set until I was 12, and that one was black and white only.

Living as I do in the “hinterlands” of New Mexico, “streaming” is not an option – I can’t tolerate the freeze screen with the little “buffering” circle going round and round and round in the middle of the picture.

My Family’s first television was a Hoffman with a green screen and a “radio” type tuning knob back in the early 50s. And, no the C.R.T. did not display in green – the tint was due to coating on the inside of the “Cathode Ray Tube” or C.R.T. which is what the “acronym” C.R.T. actually stands for…

I grew up watching one of the older ones, but now I like the 1978 version the best

Have only seen it a couple times, both live. The first time it was as the shepherd who plays a recorder duet with Amahl. But we were just finger-syncing to actual players in the pit – sort of Amahli Vanahli.
