They are in or near Ólafsvík, a fishing town on Snæfellsnes, a peninsula in northwestern Iceland. Puffins are plentiful there, ‘cause there’s lots of leavings from the fishing boats to be had. Tourists passing through can usually find a fishing boat skipper who’s willing to take them on a tour of the harbor and vicinity - less than three hours.
