When I was young I actually believed that new and improved actually was. Then I gained real world experience and realized that new and improved sometimes wasn’t. Then I grew older and over time came to realize that new and improved rarely is and that old and stable often is the better choice.
Some change can be a good thing but change for the sake of change is extremely stupid. New is not always an improvement and old is not always a bad thing. Stability is the result of slow and steady incremental change that can provide an actual improvement.
Diving head first toward the new shiny things generally only makes things worse rather than better. Windows, for one, proves that with pretty much every version change.
