My all time favorite is the Ronco knife infomercials.
My house went from corded vacuum cleaners to battery powered vacuum and floor cleaners, even the steam cleaner is battery powered.
Facebook ads are today’s carnival pitch people. Just like those of yore they sell junk and run away never to be seen again.
