    Corporate has largely cut out pensions. They claim they can’t afford them.

    Truly grateful for hubby’s pension, especially since we used all of our 401ks taking care of his Mom. My Mom had one too, from my Dad’s work. Same company,(UTC) 2 states apart. Life is odd sometimes. Daughter is an educator, they have a mandatory pension w/d from their pay so she’ll have one too. Unions made all of those happen.

    When I retired, I did a full day’s work in the morning, went around the building and shook hands with those employees I liked, and left … early!

    Retiring soon, but not with the advantage of a pension. Most corporations got rid of pensions quite a while ago.
