In all reality, True takes Corina to the Dew Drop Inn to show her Milford’s bar flies and holding court is none other than Marty Moon along with Mo the Waitress
True, of course, simply grins contentedly, and would never dream of telling the waitress to stop blabbing his mother’s mental health issues all over town.
This being Milford, she may have literally sent a carrier pigeon, it’s the fastest form of communication. CK must be really nervous about asking, no beads of sweat in P1, but she’s sweating it out in P2.
P2, Corina’s face breaks out at the thought of Tru(e)’s mom.
P3, So let’s see, Tru(e)’s mother is Maureen? I guess that would explain her having to show up to Milford late as she had a few more shifts of meddling left at her former diner.
Geez…you mean the whole “kid gets kicked out of Milford High” stroryline was ginned up just to create this annoying girl and her problems? Sheesh. When does football start? (Actually does it start at all? When does the coronavirus finally hit Milford?)
Great. They travel (“You ever drive to Hawaii?”) to some burning building and CK meets a lady who smells like gasoline. Mo calls and wants to know the names of their pets.
Art’s not at home anyway- he’s down in Tampa telling the pitching staff how to set up the game to the 6th inning for Tru(e)’s two batters he will face.
They should go to the diner and when Mo or Flo, or whatever her name is comes over to take their order, they can say “…yes, …I will have the blueberry pancakes, two sausage links, a large apple juice,…oh!…and hold the gossip and any overheard conversations please…thanks!…”
I’m okay with Corina. I like her and the other girls. Milford girls are a tough lot, and admirable. I wonder if the writer of the strip has a few daughters..As to when will coronavirus hit Milford, it would be hard to do it credibly, as the stories are done ahead, and so much is unknown about where things are going.
As a multi-decade reader, as are many here, I can attest they don’t go any further than Goshen or Central City. Reality is on a different clock than Milford uses. Ask the peacock.
Ah, so the rebel starts coming out, as she has the gall to INSULT our beloved Maureen! If I have any say in the matter, she will not be granted admission to Milford High in the fall.
I do like her carrier pigeon line. It’s like she can’t fathom that someone so ancient as Maureen knows how to operate a phone.
And speaking of birds, a little birdie just told me that today’s Mopped Up Thorp is now online.

P1- BStarFish calls it. Maureen Standish. The Flo that keeps you coming back. Ebb the cook, the opposite.
P2- Dreamy True affects the ladies with his mere presence as Corina goes into melting face mode.
P3- Did she bean True? Look at the stitch imprints on his lid. He has that drunken sailor expression.
