Interestingly, the Plague killed off enough Feudal Lords and Peerage (speculation their immune systems weren’t as hardy as their serfs.) that it allowed the ‘Middle Class’ to form.
The lower classes reproduced more quickly than the aristocrats, especially as living conditions improved. The printing press enabled breaking the hereditary and theocratic monopoly on education. The growth of cities, and the roads between, encouraged a merchant class who had no need for aristocrats. Once it was known that aristocrats were just people with no demonstrable “God-given” superiority, the system did become “futile”.
Note to Calvin: Contrary to evidence from highly-educated people who are paid to speak to the public in various capacities, using the wrong word for something does NOT clarify ANYthing!!!!

We have been living in a “futile” system for years. Though lately it has seemed way more feud all. Blood feud, actually.
Otis Rufus Driftwood about 4 years ago
I didn’t learn about feudalism in till long after I was six. I’m impressed Calvin is even in a position to do so.

Keep your answer. Even if the voices in your head are correct, you don’t want people to think you listen to them.
