Petey #1: “What would Little Neuro do?”

I guess Alice is Petey’s press secretary?

Is nobody going to play with the Rolling Bubble Popper? It’s just lying there! The suspense is killing me.

This is the most informative and truthful press conference I have seen in a long, long time.

I don’t know why, but yesterday’s and today’s strip remind me SO much of summer days playing at my friend Shelly’s house and the occasional request to stay to dinner, which was SUCH a huge deal!!! Of course, it wasn’t a “play date.” Shelly and I were inseparable at that time, although we lived several blocks apart; in those days we came and went at will pretty all over our little town. We had adventures in a nearby field, in a swamp at the edge of our village, with neighborhood boys (friend and enemy alike,) plotting how to get our parents to buy us horses, as would-be Nancy Drews looking for a mystery to solve…and on and on. And the end to a perfect day was being asked to stay to supper.
