Sunday morning I was sitting on the deck reading the funnies and eating breakfast, cold pizza from Sat. night.I broke up a few crusts into 2-inch chunks and tossed them out to the bird feeder. I watched the sparrows try to make off with them. One would snatch it and, wings beating furiously, get about 20 ft before dropping it, where another sparrow would snag it and move it along. Which is to say, they weren’t African sparrows…
Neither one of these guys is too clear on the concept. Hey, Moonie and Pilsner: read Frederick II’s famous treatise on falconry, de arte venandi cum avibus!

Why the protective glove? Pretty sure Pilsner does not wield killer talons.

Parrots are primarily vegetarians, Moondog’s lucky that he brought back something either of them could eat. :D

Yeah, just put on the leather glove and your bird will turn into a trained killer falcon. Ha

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
