Anybody remember Marlin Perkins and his assistant Jim Fowler on Wild Kingdom wrestling an anaconda? It was like the camera crew kept filming no matter what. Even though it was likely staged, that snake probably was a little more to handle than they had anticipated. I could imagine the director shouting, “Show more panic; let them see the fear in your eyes. Keep rolling film! Great action Marlin.”
And— for anyone worried about quicksand— you float higher in quicksand than you do in water. Land on your back and do a slow crawl to solid ground. It does not suck you in, and if there is a fluid riser just move away from it.

Wait a few more inches and you only have to save the camera.

Every time someone dies taking a selfie, the IQ of the planet goes up.

I think one of humanity’s main problem is we haven’t let evolution take its natural course in regard to human health and aging

I’m still waiting for quicksand to be as great a danger as I thought it would be when I was a kid.
